Well, lets see ... The full MIME type is: "application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.txt". OpenOffice comes with an icon: "openofficeorg22-oasis-text" However, I have nothing invested in this name, someone asked that I make a sample and I had to call it something and this seemed reasonable. I fully realize that new icons need to conform to the naming standard. So, under the naming standard, what should this icon be named? I presume that you mean the attached [odf.png]. I'm not sure that it was available when I made the icon. IAC, someone asked me to make one with the Oasis log. But, I agree that the ODF logo is a better idea.

I am willing to work on HiColor icons. However, as mentioned elsewhere, some HiColor icons that I made were removed from SVN. So, it needs to be clarified as to whether or not KDE Core wants HiColor icons before I work on any more. Specifically, I was working on icons for the new MIME types including Oasis. A rough idea for the MIME type icons is attached. I just made a rough 48x48 to see how it would look. This is made in my new HiColor style: http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php/USR+HiColor?content=27410 With totally new work, I start with SVGs. Some work is derivative and this isn't possible. New HiColor MIME types would be based on the attached base icon.

Obviously, there will always be some icons that are missing. That is not the way it is supposed to be, it is a bug that needs to be fixed. Not to belabor the point, but it does say fallback and there is no point in falling back to an empty directory. M-W says: fallback. noun. 1 : something on which one can fall back: RESERVE -- often used attributively You can't fall back on an empty directory -- it accomplishes nothing. Yes, you are absolutely correct about that. So I made the neutral, unthemed, generic icons and installed them in HiColor. They were removed from SVN without even consulting me. I was told that I could install them in KDEClassic (which they are not) and they are not available for fall back there.

Dear Artists, It has been a long time since I received a request from Kenneth Wimer regarding specs for Kexi/database-related icons. Now it's ready (let's say: I have reached beta stage): [1] http://kexi-project.org/wiki/wikiview/index.php?UIDesignIcons_Specs The specs came from experiences with Kexi's private icons but can be considered as a foundation for quite generic database-oriented icons subset in KDE (and possibly cross-desktop). Some of the icons are already moved up to KOffice-wide family [2]. I've tried to attach relevant details for every icon. Feel free to request more info from me.
