In what ways do you make a contribution to KDE?
Only graphics so far. icons, general art, clipart, backgrounds, stuff for websites, printing, posters.. etc.. I have been, however, thinking of doing some Finnish translations too.. but I didn't get a very good start with that, and time is also limited.

In what ways do you make a contribution to KDE?

Window Decorations(i.e. Smooth Blend), SuperKaramba Themes, and SuperKaramba itself.  I'm also working with the Plasma team for KDE 4.0, but that's still a ways off.

How and when did you get involved in KDE?

It more or less started when I found kdelook.org.  I really liked the community there and then Karamba was released.  I picked up on making themes right away.  Then came SuperKaramba and I hadn't used Python before that was out.  I really liked pushing the envelope of what could be done with such little time investment.  I was such a fan that I contacted Adam Geitgey to become a developer so I could fix certain bugs in SuperKaramba.

David Vignoni
David Vignoni is the author of the Nuvola icon theme, the highest rated iconset at kde-look.org. He is also a KDE contributor. He developed icons for Kontact, the KDE Edutainment Project, KMess, and as well as the new KDE logo. We asked David some questions about his work and KDE.

Where are you from?
I'm from Italy.

Do you work with art professionally?
Yes, I offer my services from my website: www.icon-king.com. I consider myself as a free-lance icon designer, I am available for custom icon designs and I've already worked with many American and European companies. These jobs let me spend money in software and hardware I use for creating icons. I wish to make stock icons too and perhaps make a commercial licence for my Nuvola icon theme.

I am also working on my thesis for University. It is on e-books, I've chosen the easiest one. if everything goes well I'll graduate in July with a degree in Computer Sciences
